The bryco consulting Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated from time to time to take account of new laws and technology, changes to our operations and practices and to make sure it remains appropriate to the changing environment. It includes the opinions of others about your work performance, your work experience and qualifications, aptitude, medical, physical and psychological assessments and other information obtained by us in connection with your possible work placements.

Sensitive information is a category of personal information. It is information or opinion about you including: racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association or membership of a trade union, sexual preferences or practices, criminal record, and health or disability information (at any time). We do not actively seek to collect sensitive information unless it is necessary for our business purposes. If we do have to collect sensitive information, we will do so in accordance with the APPs. Sensitive information will, in most cases, only be disclosed with your consent.

Who will be collecting your personal and sensitive Information?

Your personal and sensitive information will be collected by bryco consulting for its own use and on behalf of other members of bryco consulting, who might require access to your personal and sensitive information in connection with its recruitment services

How will your personal or sensitive information be collected?

Personal and sensitive information will primarily be collected from you directly when you attend an interview with one of our team members. At this time, if not prior to your interview you will complete our registration paperwork and provide any other information in connection with your application to us for registration.


Personal and sensitive information may also be collected when:

  • We receive any reference about you 
  • We receive results of inquiries that we might make of your former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body
  • We receive the results of any competency or medical test or background checks including credit and criminal record checks
  • We receive any complaint or other information from or about you in the workplace 
  • We receive any information about any insurance investigation, litigation, registration or professional disciplinary matter, criminal matter, inquest or inquiry in which you were involved 
  • We receive any information about a workplace accident in which you are involved 
  • We collect information about you from public domain sources 
  • You provide us with any additional information about you.

What will we use your personal and sensitive information for?

Your personal and sensitive information may be used in connection with:



  • Checking your work rights status with any government department or body (or their agents); 
  • To undertake directly or through agent criminal reference checking with relevant government agencies
  • Payment for work completed on a temporary/ contract assignment 
  • Follow up with you to offer you work or ascertain your availability for work 
  • Your performance appraisals 
  • Our assessment of your ongoing performance and prospects 
  • Any test or assessment (including medical tests and assessments) that you might be required to undergo
  • Our identification of your training needs
  • Any workplace rehabilitation
  • Our management of any complaint, investigation or inquiry in which you are involved 
  • Any insurance claim or proposal that requires disclosure of your personal or sensitive information
  • To tell you about the other services that we may provide; and
  • Ensuring our internal business processes are running smoothly which may include quality assurance audits, quality and services evaluations, fulfilling legal requirements and conducting confidential systems maintenance and testing. If you do not give us the information we seek:
  • We may be limited in our ability to locate suitable work for you
  • We may be limited in our ability to place you in work.

Who do we disclose your personal and sensitive information to?

Your personal information may be disclosed to (including to trusted third parties) for the purposes for which it is primarily held or for a related secondary purpose and in some cases, we may only disclose information with your consent.

  • Potential and actual employers and clients of bryco consulting
  • Referees
  • Other members of bryco consulting, clients and third party service providers and suppliers located in Australia and India
  • A professional association or registration body that has a proper interest in the disclosure of your personal and sensitive information
  • Our insurers
  • A Workers Compensation body
  • Any government department or body (or their agents) to verify your work rights status
  • A designated, registered training provider in relation to training and personal development opportunities
  • Any person with a lawful entitlement to obtain the information. We will advise you of our intentions and gain consent before we refer your personal information to our clients for possible work opportunities.

How do we manage personal information?

The bryco consulting team are trained to understand their obligations in relation to the confidentiality of customer information and the privacy of individuals. Any breach of your privacy will be taken very seriously and may result in disciplinary action being taken, dependent upon the circumstances. bryco consulting has an appointed Privacy Officer to ensure that our management of personal information is in accordance with this policy and the relevant Privacy Acts.

How do we store and protect personal information?

Safeguarding the privacy of your information is important to us, whether you interact with us personally, by phone, mail, over the internet or other electronic mediums. We hold personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and paper-based files and other records, and records and take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We may need to maintain records for a significant period of time. However, when we consider information is no longer needed, we will remove any details that will identify you or we will securely destroy the records.

How do we keep personal information accurate and up to date?

bryco consulting takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it holds and discloses is accurate, up to date and complete. We understand that information changes frequently eg. changes of address. We generally update your personal information over the telephone. Please advise your consultant when your personal details change.

Direct marketing

If you have provided your personal details to bryco consulting, we may use personal information to send you direct marketing material, but only subject to the following:

  • Sending updates in relation to employment opportunities, market information and promotions
  • In accordance with the anti-spam legislation, individuals to whom marketing communications are sent are:
  • Chosen on the basis of having given their express and/or implied consent for such communications to be sent to them
  • Always given on opt out or unsubscribe option in relation to such communications

What general information do we collect from visitors to our website?

Our website is hosted by Squarespace and they gather information about all of our website users collectively, such as what areas users visit more frequently and what services users access the most. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate.

This information helps us determine what is most beneficial for our users, and how we can continually create a better overall website experience for you.

What personal information do we collect from our websites?

In some instances, we may need specific information about you, such as name, address, email address, telephone number, etc. We will collect this information if you apply for a job or sign up for a service via our website. We may also ask you for other information such as the types of jobs you are interested in and your workplace concerns in order to provide you with the best possible service and internet experience.

Access to your personal information.

Subject to some exceptions set out in privacy law, you can obtain access to your personal information that we hold. Important exceptions include:

  • Evaluative opinion material obtained confidentially by us when undertaking reference checks; and access that would impact on the privacy rights of other people.
  • Evaluative opinion material obtained confidentially by us when sourcing feedback from involved parties.
  • Evaluative opinion material created by us when assessing candidate suitability.


If you wish to obtain access to your personal information you should contact our Privacy Officer. You will need to be in a position to verify your identity.

You should also anticipate that it may take a little time to process your application for access as there may be a need to retrieve information from storage and review information in order to determine what information may be provided. We may impose a moderate charge to cover the administration of processing the request.


Any time delay or charge will be discussed with you at the time you request access to your personal information.
